Emily is an eight year old who works hard at everything she does. She has
always made straight A's in school, and she has been commended by her teachers
as being a great friend to all of her classmates. Last year she won
"Most Talented" in her second grade class and she placed 2nd in the
school talent show. Emily showed her commitment to kids' fitness when she
participated in a local Marathon last year, logging twenty six miles over the
course of two months and joining with hundreds of other kids her age to run the
last mile together. Emily is a proud member of her school's ecology club
and is always looking for ways to help save our planet. At home Emily
makes sure all the lights are turned off when they are not needed. She
realizes that small steps like this can really make a difference.
Emily's
greatest talent is gymnastics. She has been competing in gymnastics since
she was six. Her favorite event is floor exercise and she is very good at
it! Emily competed in the "All-Stars" division of the USA
Gymnastics State competition recently and helped her team take home a
trophy. Emily and her gymnastics friends love dressing their dollfriends
in leotards and warm-up suits and bringing them to practice. Emily is a
good friend, loving family member and a leader making a positive difference in
the world every day. This is why we chose Emily to be the first Via E Girl
of 2010.
Outstanding Emily!
